The Pittsylvania County community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 7-year-old Briggs Pullin, who died following a tragic side-by-side crash Sunday evening.

According to Virginia State Police, the fatal crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. on January 25 along Moorefield Bridge Road, approximately two-tenths of a mile south of Red Bud Lane. Authorities said a 2024 Can-Am Defender side-by-side was traveling south when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Briggs Pullin, who was riding as a passenger, was partially ejected from the side-by-side during the crash. Emergency medical services responded and transported him to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver, identified as 35-year-old Corey Michael Pullin of Danville, was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment.

State police have indicated that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Charges are pending, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Briggsโ€™ death has left his family, loved ones, and the Pittsylvania County community in deep mourning. His young life, full of innocence and promise, was tragically cut short.
